Founded in 1990 by Jim Sisson and Gary Lightfoot, WSF is now one of the most experienced structural steel fabricators in the country. In 1997, as Jim neared retirement, Darryn Jonson purchased Jim's shares in the company. Since then Darryn and Gary have worked together as business partners, using their complementary skills to great effect.
Waikato Steel Fabricators has experienced solid growth from a small business operating from a farm shed through to a large and bustling 60-person company able to satisfy virtually all structural steel requirements. In fact, the company has moved four times to satisfy growth, most recently into custom-built premises.
