Teamwork
Staff are organized into teams, each under the leadership of an experienced foreman or leading hand, who provides a point of contact for the contractor. The site teams are mainly concerned with the assembly of the steel into structures. Dedicated staff are employed to operate the company’s heavy machinery, such as the cranes and transport equipment.
Our internal communications system is also advanced and promotes positive relationships with contractors and clients, provides a transparent process and simplifies accountabilities.
Equipment
- Large detailing office. This is where the four detailers model drawings into 3D models on the detailing system.
- 50 metre x 20 metre shop floor with five built-in gantry cranes, able to process in excess of 400 tonnes of steel each month. We are able to handle the largest beams including Steltech Beams of any size.
- Large outside yard and storage for the 18-tonne crane, 50-tonne yard crane, scissor hoists, T Lifts and fleet of WSF vehicles.
- Turning your plans into reality
The client's plans are able to be accurately detailed on WSF's specialised detailing system, necessary materials will be sourced at a competitive rate from a number of suppliers and fabrication will commence using a strict quality control system. Painting or alternative coatings can be done at WSF’s premises or, for specialized coatings, outside contractors are used and the erection completed with the use of in-house specialised machinery.
What is 'detailing'
Detailing involves turning engineers' plans into very detailed drawings of every join, connection, angle, nut and bolt for the particular project. WSF has four detailers, specifically trained to use the detailing system and provide accurate plans for each project. This means they can anticipate potential problems before they arise at the erection phase. This capability is one of our unique selling points, even our competitors use us for detailing!
